BASIC PURPOSE:
Responsible for processes and activities to ensure production demands are achieved while producing safe, quality food.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Select, prepare and load product for outbound shipment per customer specifications. Moves product from staging areas into trailers
· Safely operate lift truck and walkie and perform material handling functions
· Use hand held scanners
· Assist in loading and unloading of trucks
· Properly rotate product to assist with inventory management
· Complete necessary paperwork completely and accurately
· Monitor, track, and confirm key metrics including fuel levels and the proper temperature of reefer levels
· Utilize electronic tablets to input data
· Follow all Food Safety requirements and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
· Ensure conformance to company standards and customer specifications
· Assist in cleanliness of general work area
· Ability to work days and hours that can change on a regular basis
· Comply with food safety practices and all applicable requirements as they pertain to SQF and that are maintained
· Support company driven food safety improvement initiatives
· Additional Duties as assigned by manager
Must be willing to work in the cold and the rotating 12-hour shifts. The hours are typically between 4p-5p start and 4a-5a end.
****Training is typically for 1-2 weeks, Monday-Friday.*****
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Work continually in refrigerated environment 35° F– 45° F degrees
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Longevity with former employers
- Good attendance
- Able to work overtime as needed with or without notice
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Basic Reading, Writing, and Math Skills
RELATED EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in production, warehouse, food processing, manufacturing food production or food service warehouse environment.
- Previous forklift experience
- Scanner experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Perform various roles including activities such as product receiving and selection, packaging, sorting, re-boxing, marination, further processing and facility sanitation while adhering to company manufacturing requirements and safety regulations.
