 We are currently seeking a


1st SHIFT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN


for a local PIQUA, OH company. 


 


 


 


JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:



The Maintenance Technician II is to provide competent (knowledgeable and experienced) repair and maintenance support to the Supervisor, Maintenance to ensure successful launch of new business, plant support, customer satisfaction,
compliance with ISO9001/IATF16949/ISO14001.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES (KEY ACCOUTABILITIES):



1. Assist project team with installation of new equipment including product review, installation set-up, initial
testing and determination of maintenance needs and schedule
2. Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and emergency lighting
3. Perform monthly safety inspections of the eye wash stations and emergency lighting fixtures
4. Report closed work orders to Supervisor, Maintenance
5. Perform building and ground maintenance, as needed
6. Maintains hydraulic oil change schedule
7. Perform daily 6S of Maintenance tool crib and area
8. Check TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) schedule, daily for needed repairs
9. Contributes to internal and external system audits as needed
10. Responsible for disposal of chemicals, paints, rags, and other items as needed
11. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, or determined as necessary to meet
company goals and objectives
12. Observe and support all Safety/Security policies and procedures
13. Support and participate in associate development and associate development teams, safety programs,
incentive programs and environmental programs
14. Support and ensure consistent compliance with all Nitto, Inc., NA-PQ Handbook policies and procedures,
ISO 14001/IATF 16949/ISO 9001 systems and ethical responsibilities
15. Works with and supports all Nitto, Inc. NA-PQ Departments to meet goals and objectives
16. Promptly reports all allegations of harassment, safety violations and ethics issues to Human Resources
Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or the General Manager
17. Maintains high ethical standards in the work
18. Maintains good communication with all staff and management as well as vendors
19. Continually searches for improvements to reduce cost and increase efficiency
20. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe workplace according to the 6S guidelines
21. Participate in physical inventories
22. Report all irregular issues and problems to Maintenance Supervisor, Production Manager or General
Manager for a solution
23. Follow all customer procedures and site requirements when on customer/supplier premises
24. Participate in company sponsored training

MAJOR CHALLENGES:



Application of best practices for both machine repair and maintenance as well as the installation of new
machinery. Knowledge of Project Management practices helpful but not required.


 


Required Qualifications :

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



1. Technical/Vocational education or equivalent work experience
2. GED or high school diploma
3. Welding training
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and/or PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS Preferred or Required:
1. Ability to define problem, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
2. Excellent verbal communication skill and good writing skill to create collaborative and productive
project results
3. Ability to multi-task, apply good project management practices, work collaboratively with others, and
maintain confidentiality
4. Ability to apply problem solving skills, planning and organization skills, time management skills and
exercise appropriate judgement
5. Apply mathematical concepts, statistical data, understand common scientific and technical terms in
documentation
6. Computer Programs: Microsoft Office and Outlook
7. Knowledge of ISO 14001 and IATF 16949
8. Automotive parts manufacturing Knowledge
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES Preferred or Required:
1. Valid driver’s license
2. Fork Truck license
3. Aerial Lift license
4. OSHA 10 - hour card

  • The work performed is 25 % in the office and 75% on the manufacturing production floor. 

  • The noise level in both is below 85 decibels. 

  • The office and manufacturing areas are climate controlled

  • Potential travel may infrequently, be required

  • Work may require 75% of time working in manufacturing production area including standing, sitting, bending and kneeling for extended periods of time. 

  • Office work is also required where sitting behind a desk to check or create email, reports and other documentation
