Job Description :
Good attention to detail, good attendance, follows instruction, ability to learn how to solder or already may have soldering experience.
- Perform various wiring and assembly operations on a variety of families of standard and precise electrical, electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
- Essential Functions: Perform some or all of the following, depending on assigned area. Read and follow blueprints, specifications and routers, review sample assemblies, and receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
- Assemble electrical, electronic and/or mechanical components, subassemblies, and assemblies and/or install apparatus on housing or support plates. Assignments include any one or a combination of the following.
- Position parts in specified relationship to each other. Use machine, hand tools, or power tools to fasten, rivet, screw, crimp, seal, solder, encapsulate or perform similar operation to secure parts in place. May set up and operate; arbor punch and drill presses to drill, tap or ream various component parts. Work with a variety of chemicals used in the cleaning and assembly of parts.
- May mount components such as transformers, resistors, and capacitors on panels or printed circuit boards. Connect wiring in accordance with instructions, process books, and/or blueprints.
- Perform testing and inspection using measuring instruments and electronic test equipment to ensure part and assemblies meet production specifications and are free from defect. Apply knowledge of basic mathematical calculations such as, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
Required Qualifications :
This position requires the skills, knowledge and abilities acquired through a high school education, GED or at least 12 months manufacturing experience. Candidates must be able to pass required certification test in areas such as soldering, crimping, Statistical Process Control and Electro Static Discharge procedures. 3-12 months of assembly experience is normally needed to attain desired performance standards.
