Order Entry
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Working under the regulatory supervision of the PIC, the Order Entry Technician is responsible for entering prescriptions into the Remedi SeniorCare order processing systems (i.e., Framework, DocuTrack etc.) timely, efficiently and accurately.
In addition, the Order Entry Technician may also communicate with customers on the telephone and respond quickly and courteously to their needs.
UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A PHARMACIST
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for the understanding and working knowledge of the pharmacy computer systems, including, but not limited to Framework, Error Queue, DocuTrack and Paxit Manager as it pertains to order entry functions to ensure accurate, timely prescription/patient information input.
2. Enter orders to include, but not limited to, new orders, refills, DC’s, STAT orders, controlled substance orders, admissions, discharges, room changes, OSS (emergency kit) billing/processing, leave of absence requests, extra dose requests and clarifications as permitted by regulatory scope of technician practice.
3. Assist with order triage in DocuTrack.
4. Assist with addressing orders in the Error Queue.
5. Appropriately manage workflow and adjust as needed based on priority and daily assignments.
6. As permitted by regulation, and under the supervision of the pharmacist, assist with follow-up, troubleshooting, problem solving and clarifications.
7. Assists with answering incoming calls including, but not limited to, assisting with customer questions/requests, directing customers to appropriate staff, and assisting facility staff with ordering (receiving orders as permitted by regulation i.e., refill requests, XD’s, etc.).
8. Works in collaboration with the Order Entry leadership to meet department goals and objectives.

1. Complies with all Company Policies, Procedures, and training requirements.
2. Conducts work and professional activities ethically and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to:
- a. CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid)
- b. Boards of Pharmacy
- c. State Health Agencies
- d. DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency)
- e. OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and related state agencies
3. Completes required Corporate Compliance trainings and acts in accordance with Corporate Compliance Policies & Procedures:
- a. HIPAA/Privacy Policy
- b. Medicare Part D General Compliance and Fraud, Waste and Abuse
- c. Remedi’s Code of Conduct
- d. OSHA workplace standards
HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS POSITION:
- 3rd Shift
- $16/hr STARTING PAY with $1/hr shift differential=$17/hr
- ADD $1/hr weekend premium pay = $18/hr when working the weekend

SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. In order to stay employed after the completion of the "temporary period", you must be agree to be registered and maintain in good standing the pharmacy technician credentials required by State regulation to practice as a pharmacy technician.
EXPERIENCE: Refer to chart below for technician level requirements
COMMUNICATION: Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with English as the primary language. Must have a high degree of customer service focus and problem-solving ability.
COMPLEXITY: Must be focused, dependable, with strong attention to detail, take initiative and know when to escalate, be flexible, able to see big picture, function independently, and work under pressure with multiple tasks and deadlines. Must have strong organizational, customer service, and time management skills, ability to problem solve and prioritize.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS: High frequency of contact with associates and customers with limited contact with guests and vendors requires effective interpersonal skills exhibiting a pleasant out-going and caring attitude, the ability to interact positively with a professional attitude and demeanor.
CONFIDENTIALITY: This position includes access to highly confidential information including protected health information (PHI) - the Associate must follow Federal and State HIPAA/Privacy laws and maintain compliance with the company’s policies and professional ethics.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires the ability to exert up to 40 lbs. of force occasionally and/or lift, carry, push or move objects. Position requires the ability to sit and use a computer to perform data entry for extended periods of time during shift.
MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDS: This position requires the ability to understand direction and adhere to established procedures. This position requires the ability to adapt well in the face of workplace stressors such as customer service issues, emergency demands, regulatory compliance, maintaining HIPAA compliance and managing competing priorities. This position requires near vision acuity and color recognition.
